More About Jeff

Jeff Kearnan’s journey into marketing emergency plans to a civilian audience is rooted in his extensive background in law enforcement and emergency management. After retiring from law enforcement, where he had significant experience with FEMA and regional grant projects, Jeff transitioned into security consulting. His work included local government contracts, consulting for a major security company in San Francisco, and serving as the Security Director for the Anschutz Entertainment Group & the Oakland Raiders. 

Jeff’s pivot to helping Faith-Based Organizations began when he started securing grants for them to bolster their security measures. This led to a consulting role with an insurance company that insured Faith-Based Organizations, where he identified a critical gap: many Faith-Based Organizations lacked comprehensive emergency response plans and proper training for their volunteers. His experience as an expert witness in security negligence cases further highlighted the vulnerability of these institutions. 

Determined to address this gap, Jeff embarked on creating an all-encompassing emergency operations plan tailored specifically for houses of worship, faith-based organizations, and their associated private schools. This plan, which took nearly two years to develop with the help of various contractors, was designed to be the gold standard, capable of withstanding legal scrutiny. 

Understanding the financial constraints of many Faith-Based Organizations, Jeff priced his plans affordably, aiming to make them accessible to even the smallest congregations. He also partnered with insurance companies, offering them discounted rates to provide these plans to their clients, thereby enhancing the overall security and preparedness of the institutions they insured. 

Jeff’s dedication to this cause is evident in his meticulous approach, from writing state-specific plans based on local legislation to ensuring that every aspect of his plans is thoroughly documented and compliant with best practices. His mission is to equip Faith-Based Organizations with the tools they need to protect their congregations, making his emergency plans a valuable resource for faith-based communities across the United States.
